Stories and books are powerful tools. They stir the senses, arouse the imagination and spark a love of classic literature. Books with Feet, a non-profit corporation, transforms classic fictional short stories and novellas into staged performances. The featured literary giants are the true stars as the actors honor the author by allowing the literature to speak for itself and tell its story. Performed minimalist and with simplicity, Books with Feet targets school groups and other community organizations to perform these stories. The written word comes alive as the authors' intended language is converted from the page to the stage, putting the text "on its feet".

It is estimated that 860 million adults worldwide (nearly two-thirds of whom are women) do not know how to read or write, and that more than 100 million children lack access to education. Books with Feet strives to bring great literary giants to an age of media and internet craze. Watch and listen as Books with Feet honors the written word, and inspires youth and adults alike to do the same.
